Pure, Fresh Water Becomes Crystal Pure U.S. Ice

At U.S. ICE, our products are manufactured using VOGT machinery. This mechanism allows the production of long, cylindrical tubes of ice with a hollow center that are then sliced into uniform cubes. Other manufacturers use TURBO machinery that produces chunks of ice. Turbo ice has no uniformity whatsoever, as the machinery produces flat sheets of ice that are sent through a crusher.
Along with the uniform shape, the clarity of our ice indicates the level of purity of the water used in the process. U.S. ICE starts with the purest and freshest water available. Our machines take the fresh water at the top of tall vertical tubes and freeze the water as gravity forces it down through the increasingly cold tubes. During our freezing process, water is constantly flushed through the tubes removing impurities and ensuring you get odorless, tasteless Crystal Pure U.S. Ice.
After freezing, crystal clear cylinder-shaped ice moves to the packaging area where it is inserted into bags holding 7 pounds or 22 pounds of ice by weight.
During hot summer days we can process up to 400 tons (800,000 pounds) of ice per day. Our refrigerated delivery trucks work continuously to transport ice to our customers in the Tri-County area.
