Produce Rich and Creamy Salad Dressing

Would you like to create your very own salad dressing and make it as smooth and creamy as the bottled stuff?

Here’s an idea: Place all your ingredients inside a container with some type of sealable cover, and then drop in an ice cube. Seal the cover and shake away. After a minute, scoop the ice cube out of the container and serve. Your friends will be amazed by how rich and creamy your salad dressing is.

Prevent Sauces From Curdling

When making hollandaise sauce, or just about any sauce that is egg-based curdling can occur regardless of how much heat you apply or how much you wisk the sauce. To prevent curdling of your egg-based sauce, add an egg to the saucepan while stirring slowly. The ice will remove the clumps and make the sauce silky smooth.

Make Soups and Stews More Healthy

To remove as much fat as possible from your homemade soups and stews but keep all the taste intact, you can drop a few ice cubes into a metal ladle and skim the ladle along the surface of the soup or stew. The fat will be attracted to the cool surface of the ladle like a magnet. The flavor-producing fats are generally liquified at this point and will not be affected by removing these clumps.

Steam Rice Again

Leftover rice usually gets dry and hard when reheated in the microwave, so much so that nobody wants to eat it. To prevent rice from getting dry and hard you can place an ice cube in the bowl before cooking in the microwave. As the rice heats up, the ice will melt and the water will be consumed by the rice – making them moist and soft just like everyone likes.
